Since 1998, the Copper River Watershed Project (CRWP) has been working to find and implement innovative solutions that support a diverse economy, sustain natural resources and healthy ecosystems, and maintain quality of life and cultural heritage, throughout the Copper River upper basin and delta.

CRWP is a member based non-profit organization whose projects include:  FishWatch, where trained volunteers collect water quality data each year from the Copper River drainage; fish habitat restoration projects to re-vegetate and stabilize spawning and salmon rearing habitat; tourism projects; monitoring of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which crosses major Copper River tributaries and salmon spawning and salmon rearing rivers, for leaks and spills; watershed education, stewardship and scholarship programs; and recycling and composting effortsCopper River.
