Washington Water Trust on the Salmon River, Idaho.

Since 1998, Washington Water Trust has been working to restore and sustain rivers and streams throughout Washington that support fisheries, water quality and recreational resources so vital to our quality of life in the Northwest. Adequate stream flow is critical for native fish such as salmon and steelhead, yet many of our streams have become flow limited as demands increase for our shared water resources.
Sundog Expeditions is partnering with Washington Water Trust to create a memorable 5-day dory trip down the Grande Ronde River in Oregon and will donate a portion of their profits to support continued stream flow restoration in Washington. This fully guided trip will be based out of Moscow, Idaho where guests may stay at the University Inn Best Western before and after the trip. The price includes roundtrip van transportation between the hotel and the river put-in and take-out sites and all meals from lunch on May 15 through lunch on May 19. Washington Water Trust’s Executive Director Susan Adams, will join us on this very special Oregon river trip.
Washington Water Trust improves and protects stream flows and water quality throughout Washington by using innovative, market-based transactions and collaborative partnerships to create balanced solutions. We work across the state and focus on basins identified as critically flow limited including the: Entiat, Methow, Wenatchee, Okanogan, Yakima, Walla Walla, White Salmon, Nisqually, Nooksack, Puyallup, San Juan Islands, Dungeness, Quilcene-Snow, Lower Columbia, Klickitat and Stillaguamish basins.
Flow Restoration and Protection
With over 30 years of collective experience, we specialize in navigating the intricacies of water rights and water law to develop projects that protect multiple interests and keep water instream. We create collaborative partnerships with landowners, irrigation districts, agencies and other stakeholders to produce lasting, balanced solutions by:
• Executing water right donations, sales and leases
• Designing water management alternatives
• Managing water rights assessment and mitigation
• Leveraging funds to support projects benefiting stream flow
• Negotiating projects for Washington's Trust Water Program
• Facilitating water use changes
• Managing/assisting water banking programs
• Engaging stakeholders, public /private organizational involvement
• Providing education and outreach.
